Spotswood Annual 5K Walk and Race
The event is a community 5K walk and race held at Spotswood High School in Spotswood, New Jersey. The course runs through the streets of Spotswood and is marked with white arrows and supported by volunteers along the route. Two water stations are provided on course, located at the one mile and two mile marks.
Preregistration opens on April 4, 2026 and closes on August 29, 2026. Early registration fee is $30 until August 29, 2026; the fee increases to $40 for registrations from August 30, 2026 and for in person registration. Preregistered participants receive event T shirts; T shirts for day of registrants are available while supplies last. Trophies are awarded to top finishers and awards are presented after runners complete the course.
Participants must maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile or faster on the 5K course. A 15 minute mile pace is roughly four miles per hour and is described as a very brisk walk. If a participant falls below this pace, course support such as water stations, medical support, bathrooms, and road closures may become unavailable. In that case, organizers and local authorities may direct slower participants to use sidewalks or arrange transport to rejoin course support.
