Spooky Sprint 2026
The Spooky Sprint is an annual Halloween-themed running event held in the lakeside setting of Excelsior, Minnesota. Now in its third year, the event features courses that guide participants along the shores of Lake Minnetonka and through local neighborhoods. The event is open to participants of various experience levels, including runners and those who prefer a leisurely stroll.
Participants have the option to choose from the following distances:
- 5K Run
- 1-Mile Run
The run encourages festive participation, with attendees invited to wear costumes or standard athletic attire. The event is part of the Lake Minnetonka Running Series. Runners who complete all three races in the series are eligible for a custom beanie and a series-specific bib by using a designated code during registration.
The activities continue after the races at the Excelsior Commons. The post-run gathering includes a variety of seasonal amenities such as a hot cocoa bar, fire pits for making s'mores, and a live DJ. Additional offerings at the after-party include giveaways and various family-friendly activities to maintain the holiday spirit.
