Spookasaurus (formerly Kooky Not Spooky)
Spookasaurus is a Halloween themed running event held along the Tennessee River near the Chickamauga Dam and behind the campus of Chattanooga State. The course is a paved path that is basically flat and passes the start, finish, and aid station area multiple times.
Distances offered include:
- 13.1 miles Hocus Pocus Half Marathon
- 10K Terrifying 10K
- 5K Frightening 5K
The event has a group run atmosphere with finish times and finisher medals for all distances. Walkers and strollers are welcome and there is a four hour time limit for all distances. Costumes are encouraged but should be kid friendly. The organizer recommends testing a costume during a training run and notes first aid assistance is available for issues such as chafing.
Facilities include flush toilets with running water and soap. The aid station area provides Gatorade, water, Gu, snacks, and post-race food, and participants may leave a drop bag to access belongings during the course. Registration fees cover race entry, race swag, a finisher medal, aid station supplies, and post-race food. Registration fees and add on fees are final and non transferable.
