Spirit of the West 5K - Golden, CO

The Spirit of the West 5K is an annual fundraising run and walk held in Golden, Colorado on July 26, 2026. The event features a hilly 5K course that loops through the Sixth Avenue West neighborhood and finishes at the starting point near Kyffin Elementary School, 205 Flora Way, Golden CO 80401.

The event includes a separate Family Fun Dash of about 100 feet intended for children and families. Festivities and swag bags are provided to registrants at the conclusion of the event. Medals are awarded to first through third place finishers within each age group and gender, and additional prizes are given for best costumes. Overall winners receive gift cards.

This race benefits the Westernaires youth riding organization from Golden. Westernaires was founded in 1949 and is comprised of more than 1,000 young people aged 9 to 19. The organization focuses on horsemanship and family participation and emphasizes self respect, responsibility, and leadership.
