Special Kids Race
The Special Kids Race is the 16th annual community running event held in Murfreesboro on March 13, 2027. The course begins at Murfreesboro Medical Center and passes the Stones River Battlefield and Gateway Island. The event includes a Family Fun Zone with refreshments and activities for participants of all ages.
Race options:
- 15K
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
A 12:30 min per mile pace requirement applies to the 15K and 10K to keep runners on the designated battlefield segment under the event's safety plan. Participants who cannot maintain that pace may be moved to the 5K or may continue without Special Kids course support; timing and competitive results are not available for runners who continue without course support.
Registration fees are listed for each distance and include processing charges. The event has fundraising components, with a stated goal of $10,000 and a displayed fundraising total. Registration policies note there are no refunds unless the participant purchased the Refund Protection Program, and Race Management may cancel or modify the event for unfavorable conditions; registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to Acts of God.
