Event overview
Mastondon is an early season trail race held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Maston Trail Network near Tumalo and Redmond, Oregon. The course distance is approximately 10ish miles on BLM-managed trails between Tumalo and Redmond. The route runs through juniper and high desert landscape with views of the Deschutes River and Central Oregon mountains. Total elevation change on the course is about 400 feet.
Course and support
The course is relatively flat for a trail event. One aid station is provided at about 4.25 miles and will offer water and gels. Participants are encouraged to carry a personal cup to limit single-use items; disposable cups will be available.
Logistics and entry
Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at FootZone in downtown Bend, located at 842 NW Wall Street (12:00 AM - 5:00 PM according to the event notice). Day-of packet pickup and on-site registration (space permitting) will begin at the Newcomb trailhead. Registration pricing listed in the event materials is: early registration $55, regular $65, late/onsite $70. Registration closes February 28 at 11:59 PM PT.
Additional information
Every finisher receives a finisher prize. Top three finishers in each division receive prizes and there is a post-race raffle. Post-race food and beer are provided by Cascade Lakes Brewing. The event’s presenting sponsor is Nike Trail. The organizer’s refund policy states that refunds are not issued, and the directors may modify or cancel the race in extreme conditions without offering refunds.
