SOX Trail Run : Garden Route, Western Cape
The SOX Trail Run is a three day trail running event held in the Garden Route, South Africa, with its race village at Fairy Knowe Hotel in Wilderness. The event uses SANParks and related hiking trails, routing competitors through the Outeniqua mountains, indigenous forest areas and coastal sections of the Garden Route.
Distances are offered for multi day and single day formats:
- SOX Full: Day 1 25km mountain single track, Day 2 25km forest single track, Day 3 16km coastal stage
- SOX Sport: Day 1 13km mountain single track, Day 2 15km forest single track, Day 3 12km coastal stage
- SOX Single Day: 12km or 16km coastal stage
Entries are limited to 300 competitors. A payment plan is available with staged due dates; first payment is non refundable. Pre entries close 25 July 2026 and registration occurs at Fairy Knowe Hotel on 6 August 2026. Entry fees include daily water tables, medical and emergency services, finishers medals and beer, lunches, bus transport for the coastal start, race photography and conservation permits. Accommodation and meal packages are optional extras and are not included in the entry fee.
Compulsory safety equipment includes a fully charged cell phone in a waterproof bag, space blanket, backpack, long thermal top as needed, whistle, hat, emergency food, water bottles and a waterproof outer shell jacket.
