About the race
The Red Men Trail Run is a trail running event at Herold Wines Farm in Herold, George Municipality, Western Cape. The event offers three solo distances and is limited to 200 entries.
Distances:
- 5 km fun run, entry includes a finishers medal.
- 12 km trail run, entry includes a finishers medal and a bottle of custom-labeled Herold wine for pre-entries; two watertables on route.
- 18 km trail run, entry includes a finishers medal and a bottle of custom-labeled Herold wine for pre-entries; two watertables on route.
Entry fees listed are R120 for the 5 km, and R450 for the 12 km and 18 km classes. Picnic meals are available to book online with three menu options priced R130, R150, and R180; booking is available until Wednesday, 16:00 (online). Registration allows late entries up to the overall cap of 200 runners. Entries close 2 January 2026. The venue sits on the north-facing slope of Cradock Peak in the Outeniqua Mountains, surrounded by a nature reserve and fynbos, with vineyard scenery at Herold Wines Farm.
Routes are provided for the 5 km, 12 km, and 18 km trail variations. The event format is solo competition and is organised by Chain Gang Events (Pty) Ltd. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
