Sovereignty 5K

The Sovereignty 5K is a community-focused running event held in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Organized by the Osage Nation, the run takes place as part of a month-long celebration reflecting on 20 years of constitutional governance. Participation is open to tribal members, families, and the general community.

The event features a single distance:

  • 5 km

The race is held at the Osage Nation Health Complex on East Main Street. Participants gather in the park located behind the building. Registration for this event is provided at no cost, though all participants must sign up in advance to take part. The race utilizes professional RFID timing to track participant performance.

Awards are provided for the top overall male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are presented three deep in various age categories, including 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-18, 19-25, 26-31, 32-39, 40-50, 51-65, and 66 and over. Limited quantities of shirts and finisher medals are available for participants. Race packets are distributed on the morning of the event near the starting line.
