STEPS 13-OH 6 event description
STEPS 13-OH 6 is scheduled for October 24, 2026 at Eastwood Metro Park, 1385 Harshman Road, Dayton, Ohio 45431. The event is organized annually by the Lions of OH6 and combines community running and walking activities with fundraising for pediatric cancer research.
The event offers two main distances:
- 5K run
- 1K walk
Funds raised at the event, together with donations from other clubs, are provided to Ohio Children’s Hospitals. The money supports oncology research centers at those hospitals and provides some financial assistance to patients and families affected by childhood cancer.
The organizer states large-scale pediatric cancer impacts using these figures: 91,250 children lose their lives to cancer every year; 1 in 285 U.S. children are diagnosed with cancer by age 20; and cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death for children 15 years and younger.
