Southwater Team Sprint Triathlon 2026
The Southwater Team Sprint Triathlon takes place on 13 September 2026 at Southwater Country Park, Cripplegate Lane, Southwater, West Sussex RH13 7UN. Each team comprises three competitors who each complete a swim, cycle and run in sequence. The team time is recorded when the third team member finishes.
Distances for each leg:
- Swim: 400 m
- Cycle: 18 km
- Run: 3.8 km
Wetsuits are compulsory as a safety requirement. Wave 1 swimmers start in a mass start. Wave 2 and Wave 3 swimmers start from the pontoon in a time trial format and their individual start times are recorded by the timing crew. The event is timed using an app service and there will be no chip timing.
Entry is charged per team. The standard fee is £150 per team plus booking and administration fees; the price increases to £156 per team from 1 May 2026. Competitors must hold a British Triathlon race licence or purchase a British Triathlon Race Pass in advance; 2026 race pass fees are listed as £8 for adults and £2 for juniors.
Prize categories include top three male and female teams irrespective of category, veteran team prizes, mixed team prizes including a mixed veteran category, and a junior team prize. Team member changes must be completed by 1 September 2026. The lake is untreated open water and may be closed by the council if conditions are unsuitable; participants should be aware of inherent risks such as varied bacterial levels.
