Silent Pool 10km Guided Run
The Silent Pool 10km is a guided trail run starting and finishing at the Silent Pool car park in Albury, near Guildford. This event is led by a qualified guide and takes participants through the trails of the North Downs Way and the forest of Netley Heath. The route descends into the village of Shere, passing locations featured in films such as The Holiday and Bridget Jones's Diary.
The course consists of a variety of terrain, including wide trails and single-track sections. This is a group activity rather than a competitive race. Participants are expected to maintain a steady pace of approximately 6 min/km (10 min/miles) for the duration of the run. The event is designed for those who prefer social running or are new to navigating trails at dusk or night.
The seasonal timing of the event dictates the environment. Runs held during the summer months take place at dusk, while runs in the winter months are held at night and require a headtorch. Participants have the option to test equipment during the run, including headtorches and trail shoes. Alcohol-free beer is provided to participants at the end of the session, subject to availability.
