Event
Silent Pool 10km is a guided evening trail run that starts and finishes at Silent Pool car park in Albury, near Guildford. The run covers a distance of 10 km and is offered on selected evening dates between 2023 and 2026. The organiser charges a stated entry cost of £16 per person for listed dates.
Route and format
The route uses local trails including sections of the North Downs Way, the forest of Netley Heath, and a descent into the village of Shere, passing several local film locations. Runs are guided and conducted as group outings rather than races. Participants are expected to be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 min/mile (6 min/km) on trail. Sunset runs take place in lighter months and occur at dusk, while night runs take place in darker months and use headtorches in a group setting.
Equipment and extras
A full kit list is provided to participants. The organiser provides Silva headtorches and offers Salomon trail shoes for trial on request. The event partner list includes headtorch and footwear brands, and an alcohol-free beer is offered at the end of the run, subject to availability. A car park is available at the meeting location.
