Southern Tier Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series
This is the third event in the Southern Tier Triathlon Club's Summer Tri Series. It takes place in the lakeside community of Cassadaga, New York, located off Interstate 90.
The main event is a super sprint triathlon with a 400-meter swim in Lower Lake, a 13-mile bike ride, and a 2-mile run. An AquaBike option (swim and bike only) is available for individuals. Paratriathletes are welcome. The event is part of a three-race series where participants earn points. Racers can compete as individuals or as relay teams of two or three people.
The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, requiring participants to have a current USAT membership or purchase a one-day pass.
Course Details
- Swim: The course is a 400-yard swim in Lower Lake, starting from a sandy shore. Personal swim buoys are permitted.
- Bike: The 13-mile route consists of all right-hand turns and is described as hilly. There are no aid stations on the bike course.
- Run: The 2-mile course is mostly flat and runs along the lake. Aid stations with water and nutrition are located in the transition area and at the turnaround point.
Amenities & Logistics
Free parking is available in a large lot half a mile from the race site. There is no vehicle drop-off on Park Avenue. Participants receive a finisher medal and a race t-shirt if registered one month prior. A post-race potluck picnic with provided meats and a beer zone are part of the event.
There are no cut-off times for the race. Awards are given for the top three overall finishers and in various age group categories for the triathlon, AquaBike, and relay team divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
