Event Overview
Cape Cod Marathon Weekend is produced by the Falmouth Running Club, a non-profit running club. It takes place on October 10 and 11, 2026, at Mullen-Hall School in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Registration opens on December 1st.
Events
The weekend includes multiple races:
- Marathon (42.2 km) on Sunday
- Half Marathon (21.1 km) on Saturday
- 5k (5 km) on Sunday
- Marathon Relay on Sunday, with five legs ranging from 2.8 to 7.5 miles
- Clam Chowdah Challenge: Half Marathon on Saturday and Marathon on Sunday for a total of 39.3 miles
- Lobstah Challenge: Half Marathon on Saturday and 5k on Sunday
- Kids' Fun Run on Sunday, on a 1/5 mile cinder track
Course Details
The Half Marathon course is a fast and scenic route along the Falmouth coastline of Nantucket Sound. It is an out-and-back course with one short hill at approximately 3.5 and 9.75 miles.
The Marathon course is described as BQ-friendly, flat, and fast, with many scenic views of the ocean. All courses run along Vineyard Sound and coastal roads on Cape Cod.
Additional Information
The courses are open to traffic but well monitored by police, flaggers, and volunteers. The Cape Cod Marathon has been named the best marathon in Massachusetts. Bib trading and bandit running are not allowed for safety reasons.
