About the race
The Southbury Turkey Trot is a community charity event presented by the Southbury Women's Club. The event’s primary race is a 5K out-and-back on Main Street South that is USA Track & Field certified and starts in front of the gazebo on Main Street.
Proceeds support three local nonprofit organizations: the Southbury Food Bank, Southbury Fuel Bank and Southbury Helping Hands. The event includes a Kid’s Fun Run that begins at the entrance to Maxx365 Fitness and Recovery; in-person registration for the Kid’s Fun Run is available at packet pick-up and on race day.
Event logistics note that the Maxx365 parking lot will be closed on the morning of the race and alternative parking should be used; participants are asked to avoid parking at the Post Office and Urgent Care. Restroom facilities will be available on Main Street at the start line and in the Maxx365 parking lot, while the Maxx365 facility itself will not be accessible to participants. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Water will be provided at the finish area; participants may bring their own bottles if they want water during the race.
Race bib and shirt pick-up takes place at Maxx365 Fitness and Recovery, 730 Main Street South, on the days prior to the race; participants who registered by November 1 will receive a race shirt. There will be no post-race awards ceremony; winners will be notified of results on their phones and may collect awards after notification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
