Event Overview
Mid Wales 26 ROAD is an adventure triathlon event held over a weekend in May. The main event combines stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), road cycling, and trail running in a single, continuous challenge. Participants can choose between a standard or long-distance course, and relay team entries are also available. The event takes place at Fforest Fields in Hundred House, Powys.
Course Details
The event features two distinct race distances:
- Standard Distance: A 2 km SUP paddle, followed by a 21 km road bike course, and finishing with a 5 km trail run.
- Long Distance: A 4 km SUP paddle, followed by a 42 km road bike course, and finishing with a 10 km trail run.
The bike course for the long distance requires riders to complete two laps of a 21 km clockwise road loop starting from the venue. The organizer notes that the bike distance may be adjusted due to road conditions or weather. The use of e-bikes is permitted.
Weekend Schedule
The event spans two days. On the Saturday before the main event, participants have access to free, optional SUP lessons, including beginner sessions, masterclasses, and yoga. The main SUPBIKERUN event is held on the Sunday. Participants can select a start time (8am, 9am, or 10am), with long-distance participants restricted to the 8am or 9am slots.
Venue & Accommodation
The event is based at Fforest Fields, a campsite set within 500 acres of private farmland and woodland. The site offers various camping options, from basic grass pitches to electric hardstanding and luxury yurts or lodges. All camping must be booked separately and directly with the venue.
Registration & Inclusions
Tickets are sold at different price points for standard and long distances, with options to include board hire. A discount is offered for participants who bring their own paddle board and allow it to be used by others after their leg. Ticket inclusions typically cover event entry, a finisher's medal, a technical t-shirt, professional timing, and a drink at the finish line. Relay team tickets are also available.
