Main Event Details
Mid Wales 26 - ROAD is a multi-discipline triathlon event held at Fforest Fields, a private estate spanning 500 acres of farmland and woodland. The event replaces the traditional swimming leg with stand up paddle boarding (SUP), followed by road cycling and trail running. Participants can choose between different course lengths and entry formats, including individual and relay options. E-bikes are permitted on the cycling routes, with results for electric bike participants listed in a separate category.
Course Distances
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- Standard Distance: 2 km SUP, 21 km road cycling (one lap), and 5 km trail run.
- Long Distance: 4 km SUP, 42 km road cycling (two laps), and 10 km trail run.
Event Schedule
The weekend is structured as a two-day experience. The first day is dedicated to water-based activities, offering non-compulsory SUP training sessions such as beginner lessons, masterclasses, and SUP yoga. The main competition takes place on the second day.
Venue and Amenities
The venue provides camping facilities, including grass pitches, hard-standing for motorhomes, electric hook-ups, and luxury yurts. Registration includes professional timing, a technical t-shirt, and a finishers medal. Board hire is available for those who do not provide their own equipment. The road cycling portion follows a clockwise loop starting from the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
