South Street Youth Center Family 5K
The South Street Youth Center Family 5K takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the Jamaica Pond Boathouse in Jamaica Plain, MA. The event is a 5K run and walk open to runners and walkers of all ages; there is no entry fee for participants 17 and under.
Participants gather at the Jamaica Pond Boathouse for bib collection, same-day registration, a guided warm up, and a short introduction. Bib pickup is available on race morning between 8:15 and 8:50. Registering by September 27 secures a personalized bib number.
The course consists of two clockwise loops around Jamaica Pond with a short extension to complete the full 5K. Amenities include costume awards, top runner awards, live results, free photos, and a fun run gift for every participant. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for best costume in adult, youth, and family categories. Medals are given to top runners and the top two male, female, and X finishers in each age group: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-35, 36-50, 51-65, and 66 plus.
Registration options include run/walk entry and alternative non-running options for sponsorship, donations, or volunteering. Proceeds benefit the South Street Youth Center.
