South Street Youth Center Family 5K - Jamaica Pond
The South Street Youth Center Family 5K is a community run and walk held on October 18, 2026, at the Jamaica Pond Boathouse in Jamaica Plain, MA. The course follows two clockwise loops around the pond with a short extension and return to complete the full 5K distance.
The event welcomes runners and walkers. There is no entry fee for participants aged 17 and under. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for best costumes in adult, youth, and family categories. Medals are given to top runners, with awards for the top two finishers in male, female, and X non-binary divisions across age groups: 13 & under, 14-18, 19-35, 36-50, 51-65, and 66+.
Registration pricing varies by date and may include processing fees; early, after-September-27, and race-day rates are shown in registration materials. Bib pickup and same-day registration begin at 8:15 and bib pickup closes at 8:50; participants who do not know their bib number may use a self-lookup area. Live timing, free finish-line photos, and a fun-run gift are provided.
Proceeds benefit the South Street Youth Center. The start area is accessible by nearby subway lines, bus routes, the Emerald Necklace path, and local parking lots at Pond Ave and Willow Pond Road, plus limited street parking on Perkins Street.
