The resort is approximately 330 acres, with more than half designated as a wildlife preserve and estuary and roughly 2.5 miles of beach frontage. Organizers note island repairs and limited parking; car-pooling is required and spectators are encouraged to travel with athletes. Participants who are not staying at the resort must use designated parking outside the resort gates and use a shuttle/trolley to reach the start/finish area. Athletes will need to ride from the parking area to the transition area, a distance of about 1.5 miles.
Rules and safety
The event follows USA Triathlon competitive rules. Participants are responsible for the safety of their equipment and for making prudent safety decisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
