Event overview

The South Pennine 24 takes place on 28 February 2026 at Dovestone Sailing Club, Dovestone Reservoir, Bank Lane, Greenfield OL3 7NE. The event is organised by LDWA - South Pennine. The route distance is 24 miles with 3,900 ft of ascent. The event has an entry limit of 150 and is currently full; new entries are held on a waiting list. Entries opened 1 November 2025 and close 25 February 2026. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees are £17 for LDWA members and £25 for non-members.

Course, support and logistics

The route crosses the Dark Peak and South Pennine Moors and includes a mix of wild moorland, well graded footpaths and bridleways. A route description and a walked GPX file will be emailed to entrants from mid February. The event is fully supported with refreshments and food at four checkpoints, plus pastries and drinks before the start and soup at the finish. A certificate is available to finishers on request. Parking is available at the venue on a pay and display basis (currently £4.70). Dogs are not permitted. There is a waiting list procedure that does not require payment until a place is offered.
