South Pennine 24

The South Pennine 24 is a 24 mile walk or run on the Dark Peak and the South Pennine Moors, with 3900 ft of ascent. The route passes wild moorland, well graded footpaths and bridleways and offers extensive views of the surrounding area. The event headquarters and start and finish are at Dovestone Sailing Club, Greenfield, with adjoining pay and display parking currently charged at £4.70.

The event is fully supported with refreshments and food at four checkpoints, plus soup at the finish. A route description and a walked GPX file are provided to entrants in advance. Certificates are available to finishers on request.

Entry is limited to 150 participants and the event is currently full with the waiting list closed. No entry on the day. The minimum age is 18. Discounted priority entry is given to verified LDWA members; entry fees are listed as LDWA member £17.00 and non member £25.00. The event is organised by LDWA - South Pennine.
