South Pennine 24

The South Pennine 24 is a 24 mile long-distance event in the Dark Peak and South Pennine Moors, with 3900ft of ascent. It is open to walkers and runners who are competent and suitably equipped for winter events.

The course uses a mix of terrain, including wild moorland and well-graded footpaths and bridleways.

The event starts and finishes at the Dovestone Sailing Club in Greenfield. Registration is open for a flexible start between 07:45 and 09:00. All participants must finish by 18:00, giving a ten-hour time limit.

The event is fully supported with four checkpoints offering food and drink, as well as soup at the finish. A route description and a GPX file will be emailed to entrants in mid-February.

There is an entry limit of 150 participants. Entry fees apply, with a discount for LDWA members. The event was full at the time of the source text, with a waiting list also closed. Dogs are not permitted at this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
