South Padre Island Muzicians Run 5k/10k
The South Padre Island Muzicians Run is an evening run and walk held on October 24, 2026 at the Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island. The event offers multiple distances on flat out-and-back courses with live mariachi entertainment positioned along the route about every half mile.

The 5K and 10K are chip timed and include age group awards plus overall top three male and female recognitions. The course has a loose open time of 1 hour and 45 minutes; 10K participants must reach the 1.55 mile marker within 26 minutes to continue on the 10K course. A sag vehicle will assist participants who do not meet course time limits.
Event entry includes a 5 inch finisher medal, commemorative bib and decal, a unisex tek race shirt available in sizes XSM through 5XL, and on-site perks such as a taco and a beer or margarita in a logoed cup. Packet pickup and an expo are held before the race at the Beach Waterpark; pre-purchased merchandise must be collected at packet pickup. Virtual entries are available for contiguous U.S. addresses and receive a mailed packet.
The event uses cup-less water refill stations located along the route and permits strollers on the 1 Mile and 5K courses. This is a rain or shine event; there are no refunds on registrations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
