The Fools Run 5K & 10K : South Padre Island, TX
The Fools Run is a two-day running event held at Margaritaville Beach Resort on South Padre Island with main race activity on April 4, 2026. The event includes a chip timed 10K held on the beach, a 5K described as a participation walk where jogging or running is permitted, and a kids one mile that starts and finishes on the beach. A portion of proceeds benefits Friends of Animal Rescue, a nonprofit that reunites lost pets, places unclaimed animals, provides veterinary care, and runs a trap and release program for feral cats.
Facilities and race services are provided at Margaritaville Beach Resort. Male and female restrooms will remain open throughout the hotel. Valet parking is available for purchase and limited complimentary lot parking is provided onsite. Hydration stations will be available at the resort and at halfway points on the beach course. The 10K will be chip timed. Awards include overall first male and female prizes, first through third place in male and female age divisions for the 10K, and finisher medals for participants crossing the finish line while supplies last. Costume prizes are planned for best costume. T shirt distribution requires registration by March 6, 2026. All registrations are non refundable and the event proceeds rain or shine.
