Event Overview

The South Lakes 10K takes place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in Reston, Virginia. The start and finish is at South Lakes High School. Participants can choose between a live in-person race and a virtual option.

The course runs through the neighborhood, starting and finishing at South Lakes High School on South Lakes Drive. A course map is available.

Participant Information

All pre-registered participants receive a commemorative race shirt, a unique bib, a finisher's medal, post-race snacks, free race day photos, and a digital finisher certificate. Photos are free to download after the event, with participants asked to keep their bib visible for tagging. The event is chip-timed using the ChronoTrack B disposable tag system, with results available immediately after the race.

Awards

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in the live race. Age group awards in five-year increments, from 14 and under through 80 and over, are also awarded for the top three male and female finishers in each category. There are no awards for the virtual race.
