Sound to Bay 5K & 10K Run/Walk
Sound to Bay is a community road running event on August 23, 2026 at Jamesport Town Beach in Jamesport, New York. It offers two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run/Walk
The 10K is USATF certified and starts at Iron Pier Beach on Long Island Sound with bus transportation provided to the starting area; both distances finish at Jamesport Town Beach on Great Peconic Bay. The 5K begins at Jamesport Town Beach and follows a route through the historic hamlet of South Jamesport.
Course scenery includes farms, vineyards, horse corrals, orchards, and nurseries. Water stations are provided approximately every mile. Awards include top overall male and female finishers, top three in multiple age divisions from youth to 80 and over, and top three finishers representing fire department, police and EMS categories.
Event amenities note T-shirts for the first 300 registrants, a post-race raffle and an awards ceremony, and use of South Jamesport Beach for the day. Registration details include a personalized bib name option when registered at least three weeks before the event, and a non-refundable fee policy.
