Sound to Bay 5K & 10K Run/Walk
This event is a run and walk held in Jamesport, New York, using beaches and local roads in South Jamesport and along Great Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound. Two certified courses are offered that pass farms, vineyards, horse corrals, orchards and nurseries before finishing at Jamesport Town Beach. Water stops are provided approximately every mile. Post-race activities include an award ceremony and a raffle, and the first 300 registrants receive event T-shirts while supplies last.
Registration is not yet open; a notification list is available for updates when registration opens. Bib pickup requires parking and registration at the finish line area on Town Beach Road and Peconic Bay Boulevard. Runners must know their bib number to pick up a bib; a self lookup is available on site and recent registrants may receive bib numbers by text within a short window before pickup. Ten kilometer runners are transported by bus to the 10K starting area at Iron Pier Beach.
Awards are given to overall top finishers and to top finishers by age group and by certain service categories. Results and media services include live online, email and text results, free video and same-day finish-line photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
