Sounds of Silence SOS 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run
The Sounds of Silence SOS race takes place in Brightwaters on May 15, 2027. Registration is not yet open; organizers will send notifications when registration opens. The event supports the SOS Awareness Foundation.
The course uses Montauk Highway and will have rolling road closures in place. The 5K consists of one loop and the 10K consists of two loops. The 10K is designated for runners only. Village residents are encouraged to bike to the event and a dedicated bike area will be available to help reduce parking congestion. Participants who drive are advised to allow extra time for parking.
Bib pickup options include an early pickup on May 15 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Walker Beach in Brightwaters. Virtual entries receive their race materials by mail; shipping is scheduled from one week before the event to one week after the event.
Awards will be presented for overall male and female in both the 10K and 5K, plus awards for top individual fundraiser and best school participation. The event materials note a self lookup area for bib numbers and a process for those who register close to pickup to receive their bib number by text.
