Sounds of Silence SOS 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run
The Sounds of Silence SOS event is scheduled for May 15, 2027, in Brightwaters. The event offers two distances and a course with rolling road closures on Montauk Highway; participants should be attentive to traffic control and their surroundings.
Distances:
- 5K one loop
- 10K two loops runners only
Registration is not yet open; there is an option to receive a notification when registration becomes available. Village residents are encouraged to bike and may use a dedicated bike area to reduce parking congestion. Drivers are advised to allow ample time for parking.
Bib pickup options include early pickup on May 15 at Walker Beach in Brightwaters from 2:00 to 6:00 pm and same-day pickup beginning one hour before the scheduled start. Virtual entries will have race items shipped, with a shipping window from one week before the event to one week after the event. Participants who register at least three weeks in advance may receive a personalized race number. A self lookup area will be available for those who do not know their bib number.
Awards will be presented for overall male and female places in both distances, the top individual fundraiser, and best school participation. The beneficiary of the event is the SOS Awareness Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
