Sounds of Silence SOS 5K & 10K (May 16, 2026)
Sounds of Silence is a road race held in the Village of Brightwaters at Walker Beach, West Shore Road, Brightwaters, NY. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and supports the SOS Awareness Foundation.

- 10K Run (ages 12 and up)
Virtual participants may upload times and photos between 5/16 and 5/24. T-shirt pickup is scheduled for May 15 at Walker Beach (2:00pm to 6:00pm). Bib pickup is available on race day with early pickup details listed as TBD.
Organizers note there will be rolling road closures on Montauk Highway; the 10K is for runners only. Village residents are encouraged to bike and may use a dedicated bike area to reduce parking congestion. Participants should allow ample time for parking.
Event amenities and recognition include a finisher medal for 10K participants, race swag bags for the first 350 registrants, raffle prizes, SOS merchandise, kids crafts, and awards for overall male and female finishers, top individual fundraiser, and best school participation. Wheelchair athletes are welcomed.
