Sounds of Silence SOS 5K & 10K 2027
Sounds of Silence is a community running event held on May 22, 2027 at Walker Beach in the Village of Brightwaters, NY. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and is organized to support the SOS Awareness Foundation and its mental health programs, scholarships, and nonprofit partners.
The event includes:
- 5K run/walk with stroller option, open to all ages.
- 10K run for runners age 12 and older; the 10K is two loops of the course while the 5K is one loop.
Virtual 5K and 10K options are available for participants to complete between May 22 to 30, 2027, with instructions for tracking and submitting results. The first 350 registered participants receive race swag bags and 10K finishers receive a Sounds of Silence finisher medal. Participants who raise $500 or more receive an exclusive SOS merchandise gift.
Course details note rolling road closures along Montauk Highway; participants should follow course signage and race officials for safety. Wheelchair athletes are welcomed. Early bib and t-shirt pickup is available on May 21 at Walker Beach. Awards include overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K, top individual fundraiser, and best school participation.
