SOS: Sounds of Silence 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run

Sounds of Silence SOS 5K & 10K : Walker Beach, Brightwaters
The event takes place on May 16, 2026 at Walker Beach in Brightwaters, NY. It offers in-person and virtual distance options and welcomes wheelchair athletes. Organizers note there will be rolling road closures on Montauk Highway; participants should be attentive on the course. The 10K is restricted to runners age 12 and older.

- 5K Run/Walk/Stroller, open to all ages
- 10K Run, runners only, ages 12 and older
Virtual participants may upload times and photos between May 16 and May 24; virtual bibs and materials may be mailed. T-shirt pickup is scheduled for May 15 at Walker Beach. The first 350 registrants receive a race swag bag while supplies last. All 10K participants receive a Sounds of Silence finisher medal. Fundraisers who raise $500 qualify for an event merchandise prize.
Awards include overall male and female placements for both distances, top individual fundraiser, and best school participation. The beneficiary is the SOS Awareness Foundation; net proceeds support community mental and physical well-being initiatives, local programs that build connection, mental health nonprofit organizations, and two scholarships for mental health advocacy and professional study.
