Sorrell Hill
Sorrell Hill is an out and back mountain race to the summit in County Wicklow held on Wednesday 1st July 2026. The route starts on a good forest trail, moves onto a slippery trail and finishes on open mountain terrain. The mapped climb is 392 m.
Distances:
- 9.45 km main course to the summit and return
- 5 km junior and short course indicated on the map
The event is rated for moderate terrain and falls in the 200 m to 500 m ascent, 6 km to 10 km category. Only major junctions are marked on the course and GPS is allowed. The race is part of the Leinster League.
Mandatory Level B kit must be brought by all runners and will be required to be carried during the race as advised at registration. Required items include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. Failure to carry the required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out. A showerproof jacket must be carried or worn for the entire race; not carrying a jacket will result in no result.
Entry fee is €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open Monday 29th June 2026 at 21:00 and close Wednesday 1st July 2026 at 12:00. Registration can be completed online or on the night with a race voucher or confirmation of purchase. Car parking and registration will be in a nearby field and parking is charged at €3 per car.
