About the race
The Sorbrook Slog is an approximately 8-mile multi terrain race organised by Griffithstown Harriers in Cwmbran. The route runs through the countryside of Sorbrook and Sluvad, using footpaths, open fields, country lanes and muddy gullies and includes several hills. The course is marshalled and supported with medical and rescue cover.
The event location is a field just off Tre-Herbert Road, Cwmbran NP44 2BZ. Parking is expected to be available at Gwent Crematorium (to be confirmed). A bag drop facility will be provided; belongings are left at the owner's risk.
Entry fees are listed as £13 for affiliated runners and £15 for non-affiliated runners. Online entries are available through Entry Central until midnight on 19 February 2027; entries will also be accepted on race day although the online listing may show closed once online registration ends. Total places are limited to 200.
Competitors receive a drawstring goody bag and complimentary tea, coffee and cake. Prizes are awarded in male and female categories: 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and first place for 40+, 50+ and 60+ (one prize per runner). Event photographs and race results will be published after the event on the Griffithstown Harriers website and the event Facebook page. The event is subject to Welsh Athletics permit approval.
