Something To Talk About - forest trail at Avon Tyrrell
Something To Talk About is a looped forest trail event held at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre in the New Forest, with a Grade I listed "calendar" manor house as a backdrop. The course is described as a technical trail that passes through woodland, over boardwalks and alongside lakes.
The route uses a looped circuit; loops are 3.28 miles long. Participants may choose their own distance on the day, from a single loop up to an ultra-marathon distance. All finishers of one loop or more receive a newly designed metal medal.
Race day arrangements include on-the-day number pick-up at registration and flexible start times. There is a maximum allowed event duration. A staffed aid station (Run DMC) sits at the start/finish of each lap and offers drinks plus a range of sweet and savoury snacks, including roast potatoes and cheese. The event is cupless, so participants should bring a personal cup if needed. A designated area is provided to leave personal items.
Toilets, showers and changing facilities are available on site. Camping is possible through Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre by separate booking. The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UK Athletics rules; distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under.
