Something To Talk About

Something To Talk About is a forest trail event in the New Forest, set with a Grade I listed "calendar" manor house as a backdrop. The route is a looped trail that runs through forest, across boardwalks and beside lakes, with some technical sections.

Participants choose their distance on the day, completing one or more loops up to ultramarathon distances. Each loop is 3.28 miles long. All finishers of one loop or more receive a newly designed metal medal.

The event uses a lapped format with an aid station at the start and finish of each lap offering drinks and a range of sweet and savoury snacks, including roast potatoes and cheese. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own drinking vessel. Number pick-up happens on the day at race registration before starting.

Facilities at the venue include toilets, showers and changing rooms. Camping is available through Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre. The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules; distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under.

There is space on site for spectators and groups to set up chairs or rugs, and organisers plan a themed playlist to play across the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
