Sombrero Marathon
The Sombrero Marathon is a road running event held at Heritage Park in Santa Clarita, California. The event celebrates the history of the sombrero and stages multiple measured road race distances on a USATF certified course that can be used to qualify for Boston (course number CA23032TEB). The course is closed to auto traffic and includes mile markers and volunteers at major turns.

The course features gently rolling hills with water stations and porta potties placed along the route. Water stations use a cup free system with foot pedal dispensers; reusable cups are available for purchase at packet pickup or race day check in. Porta potties are placed approximately every 1.5 miles and free standing bathrooms are available at the park. Runners, walkers, stroller users, and walking clubs are allowed; the marathon has a generous seven hour time limit.
An early start option is available for marathon entrants who notify organizers in advance; early starters should be prepared to carry their own water until stations are fully staffed and should know the course in advance. Packet pickup takes place the Saturday before the race at a local chiropractic office in Santa Clarita where timing chips, bibs, and race shirts are distributed. Post race street tacos are provided.
