About the race
The Sombrero Marathon 2027 is a road race event in Santa Clarita, California, held at Heritage Park on May 2, 2027. The event offers multiple race distances and is staged on a USATF certified course (CA23032TEB) that is a Boston qualifying marathon.

The course is closed to auto traffic and has gently rolling hills with mile markers and volunteers at major turns. Aid features include multiple water stations, porta potties approximately every 1.5 miles, and a cupless water station system; reusable cups are available for purchase at packet pickup. There is a generous seven hour time limit for the marathon, and the event notes that walkers and stroller participants are accepted.
An early start option is offered for marathon runners who need extra time; early starters must notify the organizer in advance, be familiar with the course, and be prepared to provide their own water until aid stations are fully staffed. Packet pickup occurs the Saturday before the race, 10:00–14:00, at a Santa Clarita chiropractor clinic (25050 Peachland Ave #105). There is no race day registration. Volunteers are welcome and student volunteer hour verifications are accepted.
Participants receive race timing chip and bib, a finisher medal, premium sublimated shirt, premium hat, reusable tote, and a post race plate of street tacos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
