Sole Mates is a community running event held in Cary with in-person and virtual options. The event program includes several race distances and nonrace options at WakeMed Soccer Park. Participants may register for individual entries or enter as doubles teams; doubles results are determined by partners' combined finish times. The organizer maintains course records and offers a small prize for setting a new course record.

Medals and a gift are provided for 5K, 6.5 Mile, and Fun Mile participants, with guarantees for registrations completed by February 1. The event lists a range of awards for overall and age group placements plus special categories and course record bonuses. RaceJoy is offered as part of the race experience and includes live GPS tracking, progress alerts, and a send a cheer feature for remote spectators.
