Sole Burner 5K Walk-Run
The Sole Burner 5K Walk-Run takes place on May 8, 2027 at City Park, 500 East Franklin St., Appleton, WI 54911. The event brings the Fox Valley community together to honor, celebrate, and remember loved ones while raising funds for local cancer programs and research.
For 42 years the event has raised funds for cancer work; organizers report more than $7.2 million raised to date and a current fundraising goal of $200,000. Money raised supports local programs and services and funds cancer research.
Distances and formats:
- 5K Run - chip timed
- 5K Walk - self timed
- Kids Fun Run (1K) - non-competitive, for ages 13 and under
- Virtual 5K - run or walk from any location; complete by December 1
Registration details and race items are provided by the organizer. Fees listed by event are $30 for the 5K run and 5K walk, $15 for children age 13 and under, and $35 for the virtual 5K. All registered participants receive a custom-printed short sleeve event shirt; registering before April 11 guarantees a shirt. Virtual registrations include an event shirt, bib, online fundraising tools, and eligibility for pre-event contests and prizes; virtual entries are non-transferable and non-refundable and are staged on the honor system.
Safety and participant notes: dogs are not allowed. Kids and strollers are welcome; young children in strollers do not need individual registration. Runners pushing joggers are asked to start at the back of the pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
