Event Overview
The SoDel Cares 5k Run / Walk & Non Competitive Mile Walk is a community event held at Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The event is organized to support the SoDel Cares philanthropic foundation.
Distances and Activities
Participants can choose from three main activities:
- A 5k run/walk.
- A 5k competitive walk (walking only, no running or jogging).
- A one-mile non-competitive walk.
Event Details
The event takes place on June 6, 2026. Registration opens at 8:00 AM. Packet pickup is available the day before from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and on the event morning starting at 8:00 AM. The race start for all participants is at 9:00 AM.
Amenities and Awards
All registered participants receive a tee shirt. There is a post-race party with a breakfast buffet, refreshments, and live music. A complimentary beer is available for participants aged 21 and over. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, top male and female masters finishers, and the top three finishers in ten-year age groups from 13 and under to 80 and over. Top three male and female walkers also receive awards. Team awards are given to the largest team. The event is chip-timed using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System.
