8th Annual SoDel Cares 5k Run / Walk & Non Competitive Mile Walk
This community race on June 6, 2026 takes place at Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach, DE. The event offers multiple participation options:
- 5k run
- 5k walk
- One mile non-timed walk
SoDel Cares is the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts and directs proceeds to local organizations that assist children, at-risk youth and adults, and the elderly. Registered participants receive tee shirts and access to post-race refreshments provided by Thompson Island Brewery. The event includes live music, a breakfast buffet at the post-race party, and complimentary beer for participants 21 and over.
Awards are given to overall and masters finishers by gun time, age groups by chip time, and top finishers in ten-year age divisions from 13 and under through 80 and over. Top three male and female walkers are recognized. Team awards and SoDel restaurant teams are part of the event structure.
Policies include no dogs due to insurance liability, non-transferable bibs, and no refunds on registrations. Packet pick up is available the day before and on the morning of the event. Registration fees vary by event category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
