SOCAL River Marathon
The SOCAL River Marathon is a multi-distance running event based at Huntington Beach State Park, 21601 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 US. The event uses the Santa Ana River Trail and covers a route from Yorba Linda to Huntington Beach State Park.
The course is primarily flat and straight with a gradual downhill slant that follows the river toward the ocean. The route passes varied landscapes described as dryer desert land, areas near Disneyland, and the beach. The description notes that the trail was cleared of homeless tents two years ago and that sections are not fenced in nightly.
Distances offered at the event include:
- Full Marathon 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- 10K
- 5K
The event also lists additional entry types and categories, including a virtual SOCAL race for any distance, invite only pacer entries for the full and half marathons, and a full marathon slow racers category for finishers over 6 hours 30 minutes.
