Event Overview

The Soap Box Derby 5K takes place in Akron, Ohio, at Derby Downs. It is scheduled for July 12, 2026. The event kicks off Race Week for the International Soap Box Derby.

The main feature of the race is the finish on the legendary Derby Downs Track.

Distances

The event offers three separate activities:

• Adult 5K Run / Walk
• Youth 5K Run / Walk (for ages 1-18)
• The 989 Dash
