Snowman Triathlon & Duathlon
The Snowman Triathlon and Sprint Duathlon take place at Plas y Brenin, Capel Curig, in Eryri (Snowdonia). The event is a multi terrain race series that combines a lake swim, road cycling on mountain routes, and a mountain trail run. The date is listed as TBC.
Races start beneath the skyline of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and use local features including Llynau Mymbyr for the swim, mountain roads for the bike leg, and trail routes through Dyffryn Ogwen onto the slopes of Moel Siabod for the run.
Distances:
- Sprint: Swim 750 m, Bike 27.1 km, Run 6.2 km
- Standard: Swim 1500 m, Bike 69.1 km, Run 8.7 km
- Legend 70.3: Swim 1900 m, Bike 95.6 km, Run 21.2 km
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 1 2.2 km, Bike 27.1 km, Run 2 6.2 km
Event facilities and services include an event village with music, commentary, shopping and food, family finishes, on course marshals and signage, pick up vehicles, unique finisher mementos linked to an Adventure Championships series, and chip timing with online results. Signs, registration and commentary are available in English and Welsh.
The event supports the Mountain Adventure Fund. Free charity places are available for fundraisers with a minimum sponsorship requirement of £200, and entry options include a voluntary donation to the fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
