25th Annual Snowmaker Road Race
The Snowmaker Road Race is an annual running and walking event held in Westernville, New York. The race serves as a benefit for the Woods Valley Ski Patrol. The event base is located at the Woods Valley Ski Area, which acts as both the starting and finishing point for the various courses.
The route takes participants through the hamlet of Westernville, offering a scenic tour of the local area before returning to the ski area. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the event. Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 5K Run (Adult and Kids 12 and under categories)
- 1 Mile Walk (Adult category)
- 1 Mile Run (Kids 12 and under category)
Post-race activities at the Woods Valley Ski Area include music, food, and beverages. All registered participants receive a t-shirt as part of their entry. Awards are presented following the conclusion of the races. The event is scheduled for late August and provides a variety of distances suitable for different age groups and preferences.
