Event Overview
The Snowbowl 15K is a trail run at Montana Snowbowl near Missoula. It takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Course Details
The event covers a distance of 9.3 miles (approximately 15 kilometers). The loop course starts and finishes in the Snowbowl base area. The first half is a 4.65-mile climb on a mix of dirt and double-track roads, gaining 2,150 feet in elevation. The only aid station on the course is at the top of the Grizzly Chair lift. The second half is a 4.65-mile descent on a popular single-track ski trail known as Beargrass Highway, descending 2,150 feet back to the base area.
Participant Information
The event is capped at 250 participants. Registration is tiered:
- From May 6 to June 30, 2026: $50
- From July 1 to July 31, 2026: $55
- From August 1 to August 8, 2026: $65
The policy states no refunds, deferrals, or transfers.
Schedule and Amenities
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Runner’s Edge in Missoula, and on race morning at the Snowbowl Base Area. A post-race lunch, catered by Snowbowl, is offered from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 AM. The course closes at 12:00 PM.
Included with registration are a custom race bib, chip timing, a race t-shirt, post-race lunch, and a finish-line beverage from Big Sky Brewing or sparkling water.
