Smugglers Run
Smugglers Run is a coastal running event organised by Sporting Events UK on 15 March 2026 at Minnis Green, Minnis Bay, Birchington, Kent (CT7 9QP). The event offers a pirate-themed experience with live pirate action, parrots and period gun crews noted in the event material.
The event includes the following distances:
- 10k route along the seafront from Minnis Bay to Reculver.
- 5k route along the seafront from Minnis Bay to Reculver.
The course is described as flat and follows the seafront; event information and participant reports also note a mix of tarmac, grass and field sections and an out-and-back profile. Every finisher receives a specially commissioned event medal. Chip timing is used and results are published via a live online feed when runners cross the line.
Facilities at the venue include toilets, on-site parking and refreshments. Entry fees listed for advanced entries are £24 (affiliated) and £26 (unaffiliated) for the 10k, and £16 (affiliated) and £18 (unaffiliated) for the 5k; on-the-day entries are listed at higher rates subject to availability.
