Smoky Mountain Relay
Smoky Mountain Relay is a team relay event held on April 30, 2027, that starts at the Pisgah Ranger Station/Visitor Center on Pisgah Highway in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. The course runs through the Pisgah National Forest and other parts of western North Carolina.
Teams of 6, 9 or 12 split 36 legs across a course of more than 200 miles. The event comprises more than 30 hours of racing and uses 36 exchange or transition areas along the route.
The permitted, marked course includes traffic control signs, runner on road signs, directional signs and trail marking. Medical staff are available to assist runners as necessary. Professional timing is provided for all teams.
The registration fee covers several race items and services: finisher race shirts, coffee at the start, finisher pint glasses and medals, personalized race bibs, a free hot breakfast at Exchange 30, professional timing, and a finish line party with live music plus alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage options. Registration is limited to the first 65 teams.
