Event Overview
The Smithfield Sprint Triathlon is an early-season triathlon event held in Smithfield, Virginia. It is hosted at the Luter Family YMCA and includes three event formats: the individual triathlon, an aquabike event, and a relay option for teams of two or three people.
Race Details
The triathlon is a sprint-distance event consisting of a 300m swim, a 10-mile bike ride, and a 5k run. The swim takes place in a pool using a time trial or rolling start format. The bike course is described as rural, and the run course is flat.
Registration includes a finisher medal, a long-sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, a reusable bag for packet pickup, timed results, age group awards, a post-race barbecue meal, a finisher certificate, and free finish line photos. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT).
