Smithfield Sprint Triathlon
The Smithfield Sprint Triathlon takes place on March 28, 2026 at the Luter Family YMCA in Smithfield, Virginia. The event offers three competition formats: an individual sprint triathlon, an aquabike, and a relay for two or three people. The aquabike category lists eligibility to age 99, while the individual and relay entries are open to ages 12 and older.
Distances for the sprint format:
- 300 m pool swim
- 10 mile bike
- 5K run
The swim is conducted in a pool using a time trial format; alternative rolling swim start options are provided. The bike course is described as rural and the run course as flat. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.
Registration includes a finisher medal, a long sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, a reusable packet pickup bag, timed results, age group awards, a finisher certificate, and free finish line photos.
