Event Overview

The 29th Annual Smith McMillan 5K is held in Wilmington, Delaware at 101 School Road. This event is a 5 km run held in memory of siblings Jonathan Bacon Smith ’83 and Wendy Smith McMillan ’77. The race benefits the financial aid endowment named for them.

Event Details

All pre-registered participants receive a long sleeve T-shirt. The event includes a free "Kids Dash" for children.

The race marks the start of Homecoming Weekend at WFS.

Awards

Awards are given in several categories:

Top overall male and female.
Top male and female alumni, faculty/staff, and walker.
Top three male and female finishers in numerous age groups, ranging from 8 and under to 80+.

Sponsorship

Sponsors who register by a specified deadline are recognized at the event, listed on the race T-shirt, and acknowledged in the winter issue of Quaker Matters magazine, which is sent to over 6,500 members of the Friends School community.
