Smiley Sprint Triathlon
The Smiley Sprint Triathlon takes place in Clemmons, North Carolina at Clemmons West Pool on July 26, 2026. The race continues a local triathlon tradition in the Forsyth County and Winston-Salem area and is organized by a team of Ironman triathletes with a combined total of about 100 Ironman finishes.
Race distances:
- 300 m swim
- 12 mile bike
- 5K run
Multiple competition categories are offered for individual athletes and teams. Categories include Age Group, Novice, Aquabike (swim and bike only), Relay Team (teams of two or three with one member per leg or one member doing two legs for two-person teams), Assisted Athlete, Athena for participants 165+ lbs, and Clydesdale for participants 220+ lbs. The event assigns participants to three registration-based waves: Wave 1 for registrations by June 30, Wave 2 for July 1–22, and Wave 3 for July 23 through race day.
The event is organized as a non-profit. Organizers state that 100 percent of proceeds are returned to the race or distributed to local charities, with a priority for brain cancer initiatives. A Triathlon 101 program through Fleet Feet is also available as an additional training option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
