Smiles for Miles Labor Day 10K, 5K, and Fun Run
The Shylee Smiles Foundation presents the 2nd annual charity running event in Florence, Alabama, to raise funds and awareness for families in the Shoals area affected by cancer. Races start and finish at St. Florian Park, 83 Saint Florian Rd.

The 10K and 5K use new USATF certified courses with RFID chip timing, certification number to be announced. The course includes some small to medium hills with grades under 12 percent.
Amenities include a limited number of complimentary race shirts for the first 50 registered 10K and 5K runners, medals and prizes for 10K and 5K finishers, and multiple award categories: overall male and female, overall Masters 40 plus, GrandMasters 60 plus, and 1st through 3rd in 10 year age groups. Age groups are 0 to 12, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
There are three aid and recovery stations: one at the start and finish area with hydration, first aid, snacks, and electrolytes, and two on course with water and first aid. Packet pickup is available on race morning. Free nearby parking is available. Well socialized and leashed dogs are allowed at the back of the pack and strollers are permitted at the back of the pack. Bicycles and similar devices are not allowed on course. Proceeds benefit the Shylee Smiles Foundation and its supported causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
