Huff 'N Puff on the Bluff 15K
The Huff 'N Puff on the Bluff is a USATF certified 15K (9.3 miles) road race held in downtown Sheffield, Alabama. The course runs on city streets and along the Tennessee River and includes hills with grades reported between 8 and 15 percent.
The event uses professional RFID chip timing. Mile markers are posted and split times are provided at each mile. There are three aid and recovery stations on course, and restroom facilities are available at the second aid station. Free on-site parking is available at the Sheffield Recreation Center, 2901 E 19th Ave, Sheffield.
Entry details note a registration fee of $40.00 and a shirt guarantee for runners registered before the race T-shirt deadline on February 13. The race requires participants to maintain at least a 14:30 pace per mile; there is no wheelchair division. Baby joggers, strollers, wheeled vehicles, and pets are not allowed on the course.
Awards are given for Top 3 overall male and female, Top Masters (40+) male and female, Top GrandMasters (60+) male and female, and 1st through 3rd male and female in the age groups 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Early packet pick-up is available the Friday before the race at Solid Rock Running Company in Florence, Alabama, and race day packet pick-up is at the Sheffield Recreation Center.
