The SMHS PAC and HSEP Gumbo Run 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Baton Rouge, LA. Entry, awards and logistics
Entry is open to ages 1 to 100. Entry fees are listed as: 1 Mile - $10; 5K - $25 for adults (18+), $10 for students and children (17 & under). A team discount applies for groups of five adults, reducing the per-person 5K fee to $20 after the fifth member joins; earlier members receive a $5 refund when the team reaches five. Fees are non-refundable. All participants receive a t-shirt and a bib race number.
Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall and for the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Parking is available near the school gym, with additional parking across from the school on Central Road. The event is a fundraising race; proceeds benefit SMHS NAF Academies and aim to promote those academies, unity, health, and fitness in North Baton Rouge.
