SMG 5K Race & 1 Mile Run
The event takes place on streets around the St. Mary of Gostyn Parish campus in Downers Grove, Illinois, with packet pick up and check-in in the parish parking lot at 445 Prairie Avenue. Check-in and packet pick up begins on Friday, August 22 from 2:00 to 6:00 and again the morning of the event at 7:00.
Distances offered:
- 5K Race - 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile Run - 1 mile
- 5K Walk (no timing) - 3.1 miles
Entry fees differ by age and event. Adult registration is $35 for the 5K Race and for the 5K Walk. Student registration for participants 14 years and under is $20 and applies to either the 5K or the 1 Mile, but a student may register for only one race. The 1 Mile Run is restricted to ages up to 14 and will be timed; participants in that race receive a participation medal and top finishers are acknowledged at awards distribution.
Medals are awarded for several age groups in the 5K Race and the 1 Mile Run. The 5K Walk is a non-timed, non-awarded event. Registered participants receive a race shirt if registered by August 15. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
