Multi-Sport Racing in Llanberis
The Slateman Triathlon & Duathlon takes place in Llanberis, located in the heart of the Eryri (Snowdonia) region of North Wales. This event is a long-standing fixture in the local multi-sport calendar, utilizing the industrial heritage and mountainous scenery of the area as its backdrop. The race weekend features several different distances and formats to accommodate various endurance preferences.
Participants can choose from five distinct race categories:
- Sprint Triathlon: Includes a 750 m swim, 20.2 km cycle, and a 5.8 km run.
- Standard Triathlon: Consists of a 1,500 m swim, 49.9 km bike leg, and an 11.7 km run.
- Legend (70.3): Features a 1,900 m swim, 92.6 km cycle, and a 23.1 km run.
- Ultra (140.6): Includes a 2.4 mile swim, 180 km bike, and a run of 44.5 km or 49.9 km.
- Standard Duathlon: Involves a 5.8 km run, followed by a 49.9 km bike and an 11.7 km run.
The event is fully bilingual, with signage and commentary provided in both English and Welsh. Participants have access to an event village featuring music, food, and shopping areas. Support on the course includes professional chip timing, live online results, marshals, and pick-up vehicles.
