Slate Run Trail Race
Slate Run Trail Race is a trail running event in Slate Run, Pennsylvania, organized by PA Trail Dogs. The event offers the following distances:
- 25K
- Half Marathon
The course runs through Tiadaghton State Forest, including the Algerine Wild Area and Red Run sections of the Black Forest Trail. Runners will encounter technical single track, streams, and scenic vistas.
Both distances follow the same trail for the first nine miles. At the Manor Fork camps the half marathon participants follow the road to the final aid station and the finish. 25K runners continue on the trail along the streambed and then up Old Supply Trail. The cut-off for the nine mile section is 12 noon, which equates to nine miles in three hours with one big hill and the remainder being runnable. After 12 noon all runners will be directed onto the half course. Half marathon participants must reach the Manor Camp intersection by 1 pm or they will be removed from the course; in 2025 everyone met the 1 pm cut-off.
Registration opens December 16, 2026 and the field is limited to the first 225 runners or May 20, whichever comes first. The event policy states there are no refunds, no deferrals, no switches, and no bandits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
