Skidaway Island Half Marathon & 5k
This event on February 27, 2027 takes place on Skidaway Island in Savannah, Georgia, at the Ocean Science Circle address. It offers two distances:
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
- 3.1 Miles 5k
The half marathon course is US Track and Field certified and may be used for qualifying times. The route is almost entirely paved, generally flat, and passes marsh and riverfront views, residential areas, and glimpses of golf courses. The first and last 2.5 miles of the course are open to the public; the remainder is within a gated association and requires resident access to view.
Support on course includes aid stations approximately every 2 miles, Gatorade provided at two stations, course markings, and traffic control at major intersections staffed by volunteers or police. Timing uses a MyLaps chip timing system with instant online results. There is a four hour time limit for the half marathon and a 1 hour 15 minute limit for the 5k.
Amenities and services listed for finishers include free photo downloads, a finisher medal for the half, race shirts, continuous age group awards for places 1 to 8, and a finish line treat. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at a local running store and additional local pickup is planned during the week. Free parking is available near the start; a shuttle will serve some registrants. Pets are not allowed. Strollers and headphones are permitted.
