Skeleton Trail Shuffle & Tot Trot
The Skeleton Trail Shuffle & Tot Trot is a Halloween-themed trail event at Friends Creek Conservation Area, 13734 Friends Creek Park Road, Cisco, IL 61830. The course follows an old wagon trail and dirt paths through open meadows and under a fall tree canopy, and it includes a swaying bridge along the route.
Two event options are offered:
- 880 yards Tot Trot for ages 2 to 10
- 3.1 miles Skeleton Trail Shuffle 5K on dirt trails
Costumes are highly encouraged. An Adult Costume Contest awards fun prizes, and Tot Trot participants receive a goody bag at the finish. An awards ceremony and after party will be held at Slate, 281 North Street, Argenta, where warm homemade food will be served.
Registration opens 7/22/2026. Early bird registration runs 7/22/2026 through 9/30/2026 at $35. A price increase applies from 10/1/2026 through 10/31/2026 at $40. Same-day registration is available; same-day fees listed are Tot Trot $5 and 5K $40 and exact cash is requested. The 5K has age-group divisions from 12 and under through 80 and over in decade increments.
Shirt orders for the 5K must be placed by October 10, 2026; shirts are distributed at check-in and must be claimed by November 7, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
