About the race
The Hatboro Federal Skeleton Skurry is the 20th annual Halloween-themed running event held in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, at 130 Spring Avenue (the former Pennypack Elementary School, now the Pennypack Community Center). The event features chip-timed running and walking options, race shirts, an optional 20th anniversary commemorative wool beanie hat, and post-race food and beverages.
The course for the 5K Run starts and finishes at the Pennypack Community Center, runs through Hatboro and surrounding neighborhoods, and includes a fast downhill finish. The 1 Mile Walk also begins and ends at the same location and winds through the local neighborhood.
Awards and prizes are offered for multiple categories. The 5K has age category medals for the top three male and female finishers across standard age groups from 8 and younger through 80 and older. Overall winner medals and prizes are given to the first three male and female finishers. Costume contests include cash prizes: Best Adult Costume $50, Best Child Costume $25, Scariest Adult Costume $50, Scariest Child Costume $25, Funniest Adult Costume $50, Funniest Child Costume $25, and Best Group or Family Themed Costume $100. Costumes are optional.
Race day registration is available at the Pennypack Community Center. Parking is not available at the start/finish; nearby parking is listed at Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church, Dollar General, and Bank Street Lot Parking. The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and WK Bray - Southampton Masonic Lodge #410 are hosting the event and proceeds will benefit the Hatboro community.
